The Funcooker

photo Hey! Remember The Dark Crystal? Well, the Jim Henson Company has been workin on a sequel for some time now with a strong script. The film will be called The Power of the Dark Crystal and is aiming for a 2011 release.

Set hundreds of years after the first film, Thurma, an evil and mysterious fire girl lives in the blazing center of the planet. She steals a shard of the crystal in hopes of reigniting the dying sun! There is only one thing powerful enough to heal the star - a shard of the crystal.

I’ll gladly wait another 2 years for this film. In the age of CG, I can’t wait to see a new film with puppetry.

Preview: Community

A comedy about an unlikely collection of people that form a study group in community college. Sort of like NBC’s version of The Breakfast Club. Stars Joel McHale (The Soup) and Chevy Chase, and is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo (Arrested Development). There’s certainly enough talented people here, and if the writing and humor is anything like AD, this should be one of the shows to watch this fall.

Tonight on ‘Southland’: 1.04 Sally in the Alley

NBC 10/9c

I felt that last weeks episode was the best of the series so far. I hope that they keep up the quality of the episodes. I said it last week, and I will say it again, the more I see the more I love!!

Episode description from TVGuide.com:

Moretta and Bryant try to track down the identity of a woman whose dead body was being used for target practice by gang members. Meanwhile, Moretta’s younger sister disappears, revealing clues about his past. And Lydia offends Clarke when she criticizes his methods.

Tonight on ‘Supernatural’: 4.20 The Rapture

The CW 9/8c
most areas

Only 3 episodes remain for this season!! I am so excited to see how this season ends. I am also very excited for this episode. We get to see more Misha! I have grown to love Misha and his character. Although tonight it seems we won’t be seeing Castiel, but Jimmy, Castiel’s vessel. I’m curious to see the differences between the two both in how the characters are written and how Misha plays them.

Episode description from The CW:

Castiel (Misha Collins) appears to Dean (Jensen Ackles) in a dream and says he has something important to tell him but they need to meet somewhere private.

Dean and Sam (Jared Padalecki) go searching for Castiel but instead find Jimmy, Castiel’s human vessel, who has only a spotty recollection of being an angel.

Jimmy wants to return to his family and normal life, but Dean and Sam are concerned about his safety.

Charles Beeson directed the episode written by Jeremy Carver.
