In a crowded sea of releases this weekend, take some time to catch the latest from the modern day maestro of hand drawn animation, Hayao Miyazaki. Perfect for those yearning to nourish their inner child and feed their fervent imaginations. And to those looking for alternatives to the District 9, The Goods and Bandslams of the world.
Another masterpiece in the Miyazaki/Ghibli films that would make a great addition to your own movie library. Too bad the domesticated DVD won’t be on sale here in the US until around August 14 2009 though you might be lucky enough to find an imported version with English subbing somewhere. I, for one, prefer subtitles rather than English dubbing. Though most of the Ghibli films had good English voice overs, I feel the Japanese cast have a better connection with their characters making it a more believable experience as you journey through Miyazaki’s amazing films of mystery and magic.
